You can follow all the seo techniques that you have mentioned, but remember to work on quality rather than run after quantity. Quality will help to build your website ranking faster in search engines.

Optimizing your website for search engines and ranking higher in Google will certainly do some good for your business, but this is not crucial for web hosting companies. I believe that word of mouth on forums and locally would result in more conversions.

Remember, web hosting is a incredibly saturated industry. Some of the big companies have years of SEO work ahead if you and spend tebs of thousands of dollars a month on advertising. If you try to compete with this, you will loose(unless you have a budget higher then theirs) Period!

Work on your SEO, try some paid advertising if you want, but you also need to work on a more personal approach. Think of things you can do to go get customers build your brand recognition and reputation, etc.

On anyday I will tell you JUST WRITE WHAT YOUR TARGET WANTS THE WAY THEY WANT IT. It will take a while but it will pay off. Dont write for search engines write for your target audience. They will love your work, they will link back, they will spend more time on your website, they will recommend and Google will love it

Focus more on quality links with your keywords in them. 1000 little links will not have the value of say a DMOZ listing.

If you have a fairly new site I would go with Google adwords for a faster start.

If you are more established the the items you listed will work but it does take a long time to get established.

Approach each and every new business in your immediate area, by phone, email or in person. I buy leads ($0.10 per lead) from the Business Journal and send direct mail to them.

Google adwords, in addition to advertising, and increases position on Google.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but how do you see a hosting company ranking on Google with Adwords alone? Also running Adwords ads for hosting niche is, not everyone one cup of tea. Just look at the CPC one needs to pay.... that too, along with the split tests between your ad copies that need to be carried out.

All the above would is good for marketing and advertising your website. As a hosting service provider, you should always provide quality service for your clients.

Good luck mate :)

You will not able to google page one in each keyword. It will be good idea if you target few keyword which have good monthly search volume and KC= keyword competition is not more then 40. Work for the Focus keyword and try to rank It in google page one.
