How to find a reliable Hosting Company

My nightmare came true. I saw a great hosting company 24/7 tech support SUPERB pricing for my MYSQL ecommerce enabled website. I had all the features it was great.

Then came when the SSL was integrated. They offered to help. Well my bread and butter website went down for about 7 days. I called tech about 40 times emailed the CEO and sent a ton of emails to get it fixed ASAP.

now after losing thousands of hits and potential sales (right at christmas peak) I am looking for a new web hosting company.. I see hundreds of them but its so hard because this company that caused all the problems looked like a company I could trust.

Im looking for 24/7 support mysql, windows server, ftp access, lots of memory ,, and for an ecommerce site.. and i am currently paying $9.95 and I dont want to have to pay for setup fees etc

Im not trying to instigate advertisment on this forum which im sure is against the rules however Im looking for advice on how to find a reliable and trustworthy host. THANK YOU in advance for your support and help!

why not have a look in the offers and requests forum, this is were everyone advertise their hosting deals, good luck.

When you choose a company, check various things. Look if they have a third party uptime company backing up their words. Test if they really have 24/7 support. Call them. If you're up at 2am in the morning. Call them, check their Live Support Chat. Email them asking tricky questions, if they answer well, they know what they are doing. Check if there are any testimonials and their websites. There are many things you can do to find a good host.

Ohh.. Thats bad. The host where my website is hosted is very good, Its downtime is very little ( maximum I ever seen was 30 mins, but that only happen after more than a month ).
I can't post the URL of the site because it may be against the rules. If not, please reply admin sir and I will then post the URL.

You may search Web Hosting Directories or Forum's Offers.

You could find a lot web hosting provider. Also most of hosting providers have money back so least you can try.

Well you have to travel south and head down the windy river of hell until you meet up with the one who will hand you the treasure map leading to the good provider. Honestly there is no one way to answer this question. There are a number of good providers out there. I would suggest testing a few hosting providers before you put up a production based site.

Did you try looking for reviews? :) looks can be deceiving.

Reviews are definitely a problem. Alot of the reviews for providers are fake or bias. You really have to take a risk and just choose one and just test them out before settling down.

Well, you can sometimes tell whether a review is fake or not. Especially the ones that give a company a bad rating. :)

It is always better to make a list of hosting companies that you may choose from and research their reviews on multiple hosting related forums.

As other's stated, be sure to check their uptime from third party sites and call them at holiday times or late at night to check their support as well.

Finding a reliable hosting company is not so easy. We can find reliable hosting company by checking stability of company, by reading customer reviews.

Generally hosting companies which are reliable, place customer reviews on their site.
