How Much Hours In Front Of The Computer?

How much hours can you endure to work in front of the computer screen? I've been known to do a few 20 hours straight sessions with only 5-6 hours of sleep in between. It's extremely tiring though.

I'm not that dedicated - normally 8:30AM to 5:30PM. Of course I have a couple of other businesses that demand my time - some of that also in front of a computer. :D

Normally I'm 9am - 5pm work wise however I have been known to span 48hour periods in front of a desktop with very large and subsequently high risk or importance systems outside of the area of hosting.

That said from a legal standpoint and from experience in the UK work wise, a 10 min break per hour is a legal requirement for employers.

How many hours have I worked infront of a screen? Too many. Daily I run about 12 hours, many times more than that. As for consistant time in front of a computer, a few days with a few power naps. I did have a stint many years ago (about 14) where I work for 23 days in front of a computer with 2 hours break/nap, along with regular stretching etc. I don't advise it, but when you have a huge project on your hands and you're the guy pulling all the strings to make the puppet jump, you have no choice. Many millions of dollars on the line, with a ton of penalties if the project was delayed. Of course, there was massive bonuses when we delivered before the deadline :)

It can be done - as long as the reward is worth it in the end.

I spend about 12 hours a day on the PC. Back before I had kids, I spent 18 - 20 hours a day on the PC. I once worked for a big reseller company in the UK and my weekend shifts were 15 hours.

Yeah, about 10 hours/day for me. That's 9-5 at work and the rest at home on my own projects. I worry about my eyes!

Doesn't it affect your eyes? I was told by a doctor to wear an anti glare specs. Even though I don't have power i was still asked to wear it.
I dont like to wear it though
