How many passwords do you have to remember?

We all have passwords to remember. Whether it is for your forum username account, online banking, email address or a web service of some sort. In your estimation, how many passwords have you had to create so far?

I have to be honest: hundreds. I've worked hard over the past few months to lower that number, eliminate usused accounts, etc.

I'll throw in a strong recommendation here for KeePass in case you guys haven't heard of it. It's a completely free and open source piece of software that stores and organizes passwords and all related info and comes with a slew of security features. Easily one of the most useful apps I've found!

Its an interesting little app. Never seen it before.

I remember there was a web-based app before that had some of the worst publicity around because it had a malware of some kind, or it was feeding ads due to a spyware of something... It received a lot of lawsuits and was eventually shut down.

I've heard some of the same things. The good thing about KeePass is that the source is public, leaving it open 24/7 to scrutiny by anyone who cares to look.

I'm in the hundreds range also. There's 7 main passwords that I have to remember every 90 days (as they change).. Those 7 passwords grant me access to my computers and then to the encrypted files that store the passwords. I then copy and paste for the various sites that need passwords etc. Beyond that, every password I have is tough to remember as they're 12+ characters and are upper/lowercase, numbers & symbols. I use random password generators on most of the things I do. Forums are a little more laxed than that :)

All my passwords follow a similar format so there's not much remembering for me. I only have to remember about 5 passwords.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post. How do I delete this post?

Although i have created many of them, now i use only one master password for the roboform my robot to remeber the passwords. Every time the login pop up appears it fills the user id and password to me. I find it best tool when it comes to your main problem of remebering password for hundreds of website

Nice thread. Number of passwords could not be counted that we have to remember. But there is not any problem in remembering these passwords.

I have well over 15 passwords I remember on my own. The smallest of which is 8 characters long; the biggests is 20 characters long. These are the same passwords that i've used since I was 13-14 so remembering really isnt a problem. My social security # or bank account # are # that I have to keep looking up when I need them lol Very weird. I guess i have so many numbers memorized that it is hard to add onto the list. But, that is just a guess.

I have to remember 5 to 6 different passwords. Passwords on different forums, my personal e-mail address and on my chat account. LOL

A lot of them I guess. I have different usernames and passwords on my banking account, Yahoo and Gmail accounts, affiliate programs, online games, etc. Sometimes I put them and stored on my cellphone.

I always be getting mixed up and head aches when it comes to password, Like for example my HD user name is my aim name and when i come here I have a different pass to the aim and HD and I try to log in fast but type wrong pass. To tell the truth too, From school, my job, home, and friends or cu sens computers and stuff know the passes I at least know about 30 passes. I have good memory. From myspace, facebook, twitter, cpanel, whmcs, billing systes, computer accounts, forums, gaming sites, games, and cell phone and aim, msn yahoo much more like emails and even more i mean a lot now that i think of it its hard and a lot.

I am really pretty bad when it comes to my passwords. I know that I shouldn't re-use, but I tend to. I keep unique ones for my banking and really important stuff, but otherwise I'm terrible. I need to change this really.
