How can we get more active members on the board?
Im starting an advertising campaign soon and Im doing banner exchange with a number of sites that should have members interested in HT.

Does anyone know of other ways we can get more members?

Interested to hear any suggestions :)

Maybe if we had some kind of promotional contest somehow, not exactly sure what, but something like that might work.

True what Jimbo said to got more member you need to paid some advertising or exchange some banner with some other company.

That what we do spent around 1,000 or more. :)
 
Once you get more articles you should get more visitors. Every considered advertising in an internet magazine. I think a small add is not to expensive.
 
Anyone have any idea of how much it would cost?
I would need a mag which is related to hosting, maybe ping zine...
Was asked about advertising in that before.
Anyone know any other mags?
 
I only know of the hosting magazine you told me about John, can't even remember the name of it :(

I'm not sure what we could offer users to come here, but if we could offer them whatever, maybe a featured advertisement in the advertising forum for a week or two, that might help, wouldn't hurt :P

Ok back on topic...
I did the free advertising at first hoping to get some new members, I think I might do that again for new members and members that refer more to the site.
Can use the referal thing on vBulletin to keep a tract of any new members that reg here from a link from a current member :)
