Hi,
I'm currently using one hosting plan that have huge amount of space they offer and can't handle tree sites that have 10 000 unique visitors a day, sites are on joomla!
Can you pleas reffere me a good hosting that have some nice reseller plan and can handle, let's say 50 000 unique, how much would that cost me?
Thanks.

With those kind of numbers per day I don't think a shared environment would be your best bet. I think you would be best off going with a VPS server or possibly dedicated.

Being on a shared environment with that many unique users per day is just asking for trouble. While a host might convince you that they will be able to host that account with no problems on a shared or resellers plan, you will soon find out that the server will start to over load and effect other customers, thus leading to the host having to remove your account.

Go with a VPS or dedicated is my advice.

Agree. With 50k unique, I think you probably need a dedicated server.

And there are several dedicated plans that cost $40-$90.
e.g. Hostgator, ThePlanet, ServerBeach, VolumeDrive.

Not all of those hosts have such low priced servers. Besides, a low end server will be limiting as well, and will definitely have a hard time coping with the eventual usage peaks.

A high-end VPS could handle it, and the best thing about a VPS is you can get more power than a low-end dedicated ;)

I don't know where you get that from. You will have a lower amount of cpu than you would if you had a dedicated server. You are still sharing resources remember.

The only way to get the same amount of CPU as a dedicated server was if you had some sort of Hybrid plan where you were guaranteed the same sort of CPU spec as a physical one.

VPS always have a virtualization layer, this layer costs some resources, and many companies oversell their VPS plans. The burst memory is almost equal to a marketing strategy.

And, low-end dedicated servers also have their limitation, especially when you want a resource-consuming control plan. But if the user can manage the server without a CP, I think a low-end dedicated may be better than a VPS.

It depends on the company and the equipment, a high end hybrid VPS will be better than say, a Celeron with 512mb of RAM. I'm assuming a non-oversold VPS, but there are plenty around.

I think it takes quite a bit of experience to estimate if the needs of a site can be met by a certain hardware configuration.

I also suggest a high end VPS. Joomla especially takes a bit of CPU, so even most overselling hosts may give you a kick at that much of traffic!

You'll want it to be a managed server and that is why I agree with the recommendations of HostGator and ServerBeach so far. Also look into liquidweb.

You'll be better off with a dedicated server with those kind of requirements. I don't think that a VPS will be able to support you because your cpu will be limited. You can try checking at ServerTag :).

Good grief.
Its like no matter what direction you go youre screwed.
I just want my sites to RUN when someone comes by.
We have a number of smaller sites that will never get a ton of traffic but when someone DOES come by I want my sites UP and RUNNING.

I literally had mirror sites last year...a .com and the .org hosted at 2 different companies so that one would ALWAYS be up.
I made the mistake in thinking that shutting the down and upgrading at the other was a good idea :disagree:
Now Im just getting really bent out of shape at my hosts who seem to think that my paying for their premium acct just means they get more money from me.
