Hosting/Domain Name Problem

Hi,

I have quite a problem and was wondering if anyone here has any ideas that could help me.

I have several domains hosted in a single package with a company and yesterday I discovered one of the domains was appearing to be offline. I emailed the company asking why this is so and they responded with the following:

“We have found that, your domain has transfer to other hosting company. Have you transfer or give your password to some one else?

Your domain does not longer belong to us or you.
Also, the domain DNS setting is not point to our server.
That's why your site is down”

I work from a home computer and never reveal passwords to anyone. I find this to be very strange as I renewed both the domain name in question and the hosting package several months ago without problem and I was only working on the site last week.

Ive been with this particular hosting company for 2 years and never had any problems, but surely suddenly being informed your domain name which you’ve owned for years and only recently renewed does not belong to you anymore isn’t right.

I have no idea what to do, so anybody with any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as you can understand this is quite serious.

Thanks, Jason

That seems strange. Have you check to where your domain is pointing too? If you cant find any solutions, try contacting the company where you register your domain.

Was the registration of the domain under your name and did you do the renewal process accordingly under the specific guidelines.

well what's the domain name? or what does the whois data say for the domain name now? It possible it was hijacked, though with newer security it's tough to do it.

Try to find out where it was moved to. Also, the ONLY way they could have moved it or anyone is if they had access to your email, which would have been listed on the whois too.

Type your domain in here: http://www.whois.sc/
From there. read the whois information on the domain.

Is the contact info correct?
Is the nameservers changed?

If you see anything wrong, the problem is with the domain, not your hosting provider. Contact your domain registration company for assistance.

First, whois your domain to ensure that all of your contact information is correct. Next, check that the nameservers pointing to your domain are correct. If this is correct, check your account with whomever is hosting your domain names, and ensure that your contact information is correct, the nameservers are correct and no changes have been made to your account. If this is all correct, it is a problem with your host; if not, you have other issues that you need to resolve.

Was your domain name "locked" in your domain control panel..? Or it was Not..?

I strongly suggest you you better Lock all your other domain names before someone hack into your account and transfer them as well.
