Hi Everyone, I'm new here

I have been reading the many forum messages here and then decided I'd better join up and join in.

I'm relatively new to web hosting so hope to learn more about this business from you guys. :)

On the recommendation of some of the posters I checked out RegisterFly and signed up with them but I am getting really frustrated with their lack of support. As this is probably not the right forum to post messages in regards to this I shall go and post my questions on the Web Hosting Reselling forum.

I look forward to participating here.

Yours

Welcome to HD, Jayne.

Hopefully we will be able to help you out with your frustration, so ask away (in a related forum.) :)

Best,

Welcome to HD Jayne.

Who put you on to Register Fly? They should have their hand slapped.

I have had very good dealings with Godaddy and NameCheap. I would recommend either highly. Currently with 80 domains between the two.

I was reading the messages in the Web Hosting Reselling forum and I know at least one and probably more recommended RegisterFly.

I like the way they do business it's similar to Reseller Panel where I don't have to pay a monthly fee to resell their services. As I'm new and not sure how this business is going to go I'd rather keep my outlay as little as possible for now, if you know what I mean and so I don't want to sign up with anyone who charges monthly fees at the present time.

Take care

Jayne

Domain sales will account for very little of your overall sales.
You could just open a NameCheap account, and buy the domains from them for $8.88

Charge whatever you think is fair to the customer. It doesn't have to be totally integrated since the client won't have access to the domain until after propagation anyway.

Thanks I appreciate that.

I mainly want to sell hosting packages and domain registrations with my web design packages.

Reseller Panel is great and a BIG plus is their support but they only offer two plans at the moment and payable on an annual basis. They say they will be offering monthly plans but not sure when.

I was looking for somewhere where I could resell smaller hosting plans for those clients who have personal websites where they wouldn't be using too much space or bandwith.

For instance, I just completed a deal with my doctor for his personal music website. He is only using 18MB of his 400MB quota and probably won't use much more so there is 382MB of web space just sitting there doing nothing.

On the other hand he may need more bandwith once word gets out. Right now it's 5GB which will probably be sufficient and upgrading is reasonable but it's such a waste to have 382MB of space sitting there not being used.

Surely, there are some companies offering smaller reseller packages without having to pay a monthly fee?

I know I may sound cheap but right now I can't justify an outlay, despite how small the cost is, of a monthly fee for reselling web hosting.

Take care

Jayne
