Has anyone tried IE9 Beta?

Just downloaded it so I haven't had a lot of time to test it, but it is lightning fast.

Your thoughts?

Just stumbled across this article that states website speed trumps site functionality. I wonder how the new speed of IE9 will factor into this.

I've downloaded it, but haven't installed it yet. I did hear though, that it has issues rendering pages correctly. Have you had any issues?

I've used it some and I like it.
No issues yet.

Of course you know Steve that you have just touched off what will inevitably be another "Why are you using IE when xxxx browser is so much better" argument from the anti Microsoft crowd.

In 3... 2... 1...

:D

I decided to install it and give it a try. I'm using it on a Windows 7 system, which it is supposed to work seamlessly with, but it's acting kind of buggy for me.

It hangs for no reason and seems to hiccup on simple things like entering text in a form or mouseovers.

Anyone else using it on Win7 ?

I'm using it with Win7 64bit.

I installed it on Win7 32-bit and it was completely annoying me so bad with the hanging that I had to remove it.

It's still a beta, so I'm not that concerned. IE8 will do 'till they get the bugs worked out.

Ironic since IE8 64bit works like a wino on a 64bit system but IE8 32bit works great on a 64bit system.

Speed is huge for me as I'm all over the Internet and hate waiting. IE9 is absolutely the fastest of all the browsers I have installed here. Firefox and Chrome have their niches and I still use them, but my primary for now is IE9.

While I don't discount this benchmark, I'm comparing browsers for my specific applications on a Vista computer . My wife uses Chrome and loves it. Thanks for the link, Bue. :D

I've been using Chrome (well Chromium in Kubuntu) for about a day now. I quite fancy it. Fast, no lags. I now start to realize that Firefox had its moments when it hang for a couple of seconds while it did whatever (could be some addon being nasty though).

Chromium is a bit spartan, but quite functional and I found the type of extensions I needed most. I might stick to using it.
