Hi all,

I am not a very good politician to talk :) so this is what I am trying to say to you.

My name is George, and I am CoOwner, CoFounder of Rowebca.com. Right now, we offer shared hosting, reseller hosting and managed dedicated hosting. We offer web services related to hosting like: servers security, WHMCS services and more.

I immigrated in Canada (2003 from Eastern Europe) now living in Montreal, (I lived 18 years in communism). I worked before to come in Canada for a big IT company (Internet Service Provider), in cabling, internet, phone, so I have many years in this domain, security, programming etc. (in my origin country).

Since I came in Canada I started in free web hosting (for me was just hobby), and was extremely interesting because of the high rate of fraud that I had to control it, was the best environment to test security scripts against fraud etc.

The fun was that I ran my first "dedicated server" in free webhosting from my house and I had 8000 free users (at that time I didn't use cPanel) with a nice revenue from google ads, and imagine the "server" was running normal (and no hack), with a traffic of 400G / month. (this took place in 2003).

I worked (was CoFounder) under another brand, company (I don't like to say the name, I had to leave) and I started again under this brand: ROWEBCA.

That's it, I said to much about me. :)

Thank you,
George B.

Welcome to the site.

I checked out your hosting site earlier. I even talked to some one over live chat. I do not recall his name. He seemed nice. I liked how he was super honest. I love honest hosts. So I book marked your hosting site. I do not need a host at the moment but if I ever do you are on the list to check out.
There are not that many on the list if you are wondering. Before I joined this site I had actually deleted all old hosting book marks. Now I am researching new ones for back up. You know just in case type thing.

Hey George, interesting introduction. I guess you've went through a very good school running a free hosting provider off a single dedicated server with that many users! Must have been some hours that you were putting into that enterprise. :)

I am glad that our forum attracts members like you with your background and your experiences. I am sure they will come in very useful for others.

As a fellow Montrealer, welcome to HostingDiscussion!

Hi and welcome George,

I take it from your company name (and the choice of colors) that you previously came from Romania?

It is an interesting thing, with free hosting. I am myself considering joining that part as a provider and currently investigating the options.

After years of experience I can tell you it is a waste of time, hard work dealing with abusers. From my experience I can tell you 96% of users for free web hosting are just abusers. If your setup for your servers are not "paranoid" you'll be extremely disappointed, fighting against abusers. Going back to 2003, was a little different.

If you are a developer, producing security software, free web hosting is the best way to test it, if you know what I mean. But of course it is your choice.

I have a question for you. Why do you have an inode limit? You are the first non unlimited host I have seen that has had an inode limit. Why not just let people use all the space they are paying for?

The limit is just for backup purposes , you can use all your space, of course is everything is according to our T.O.S.

The inode thing would have been the only thing that was not in accordance with your TOS as I did actually read it.
I would not have seen the inode thing if I didn't see it.
Last time I checked my inode usage I was using over 200,000. I am not sure how to check with out having ssh.
