Google Toolbar

Those who have Google toolbar installed, does the toolbar updates itself just by itself? This is a little weird since I was not asked for update/install permission. It is no big deal, but its just the first notable upgrade Google toolbar has performed.

PS: I really hope this is not some kind of spyware in my system...

I use Google Toolbar and love it.
It is by default set to automatically update Art.
You can change the settings in your Options to manually update.

I love the toolbar myself, Mike. I was just a little shocked it was suddenly all new with almost forced-in features.

Google toolbar is probably the most efficient application I've used since... Trillian messenger.

Goolge toolbar is really very useful. It saves a lot of time as one can see the page rank of the site instantly. No need to go to another website to check the PR.But once I had an issue with the toolbar. I had visited a few sites and noted the pr of those sites. After two days the same sites had a different pr. I was confused whether to rely on the toolbar or not .What I do now is always cross check the pr of a site. I guess google update was in progress and that could be one of the reasons to get variable pr for same sites. What’s your opinion guys?

i dont like the latest toolbar they came out with, gmail icon always says you have new mail when u dont, dont see any way of turning it off either (email notification)

I hate toolbars, only thing I'd use Google toolbar for is to do Google searches fast, and with IE7 I have that handly Google searchbox.

I know, I know, "But IE sucks" but what makes Firefox or Opera or Nutscrape so great? I use Opera, but only on my phone...

I noticed a lot more crashes in FF2.0 with the Google Toolbar enabled, so I have it disabled now. I have it enabled in IE7 tough which I use when I need to check on the PR of a site.

Hi,
Google toolbar is very much useful for myself. The Page rank option of the toolbar helps me to find the good websites with higher pagerank and the popup blocker helps to block the ads.

And also the spell checker is very useful to rectify errors..
