Good Bulk Email Script for VPS?

I am trying to find a bulk email script suitable for a single user to install on a VPS to manage email lists and schedule sending of newsletters etc, can anyone make a recommendation? i see a few on CodeCanyon but am hoping someone can recommend one from there own experience.

Sending bulk emails from your server may end up listing the server in RBLs. I will suggest to use mailchimp service to handle your email lists. They have API integration option which you can from your server. They also provide stats like delivery rate, bounce rate, unsubscribed rate and many more.
