Get off the grass!

I want to be that person on the block that tells the kids "Get off the grass". It seems while I am home sick today that neighborhood school kids feel that since my yard is not fenced in that it is really an alley way for them to trample over. I am trying to catch the next one and explain as nice as possible that I do not pay property taxes for their little feet all over my yard, lets hope it works. :(

From my experience as I little kid, I had guy who said stay off the grass and was really mean to the kids about it. He was mean guy and like pre-teens do when someone is mean to them we pull pranks on this guy for years. So I would do it in the nieces way possible because those kid will pull pranks on your grass like I did. We put shaving cream all over his grass one time lol :devil: After that he stop being so mean to us about his grass. But this guy was paranoid about his grass and it had to be prefect not like your situation. Just my two sense.

I think what he/she means is that is is his/her yard so why should those kids be allowed to be on it? Also, when people walk on an area like its a routine, the grass will become damaged, and die. Thats if the kids walk through his/her yard frequently.

Really without a fence I doubt there is much that you can do. With the messed up system over here you'll probably risk being sued if you yell at them, I mean you can't even protect yourself from burglars without getting sued. So yeah, just be careful.

Yeah, it sucks. Guy tries to rob you and doesnt even make it to the door. Gets hurt on your porch and you get sued lol

Put the sprinklers on a trigger - slap them on when the kids come over ;)

I actually don't mind too much, as long as they're not taking skateboards and bikes up around the front of my house and making noise.

Yeah, the sprinkler idea works. When ever you see em, just turn it on. After a few times, they will either think it is motion sensored (which my neighbor has lol) or that they just have bad luck and will get sprayed if they go near it :P

They use motion sensor sprinklers in Saint Louis to control deer from destroying flower gardens, so why not for trespassers? Of course here, they wouldn't work in the winter. LOL

The sprinkler idea is a pretty good idea and they kids will have no idea what is going on or they won't suppect you of doing it to them directly.

A pit bull on the front porch on a chain that just reaches the property boundary should do the trick... ;)

I agree with Vito. The fact is being nice to them may work, but you can't use words like "property tax" cause you'll lose their attention. just be cool about it...they're kids

1 vote for sprinklers. Though I wouldn't do motion activated because where's the fun in that, you've got to wait till they're halfway through your yard then hit'm full blast. :)

Sprinklers will work really well with teens... they're all so obsessed with their hair.

Lol I must have been brought up well... I was a very respectful child. Never went anywhere that belonged to someone else unless it was owned by the council.

put a "keep off the grass sign" up & glare at them out your window :D

for extra effect, put in red contacts and when they look at you, look behind you & cackle, then walk away. (;
