Gambling Sites

I have seen a lot of companies being reluctant to host a gambling site for the 3 reasons of this forum…Fraud, abuse and security.
I wanted to know if anyone here has, or knows of another company that has, hosted a gambling site?
Did it actually bring any of those problems?
What are the laws for a web host in regards to hosting gambling sites? Is there anything held over their head for what happens on the site?

Do data centers ban gambling sites at all like a lot would ban IRC and porn sites?

Can't get that going again.

Sorry but I don't know what that means.

I don't know what the legal issues are but I know gambling is avery big market, although most sites wouldn't be going for shared hosting, but rather dedicated as the sites would use so much bandwidth and most likely resources.

I would say it would be a good market to get into, you host one big site and you would get a lot more customers from word of mouth.
The businesses in gambling are very closely linked, they know about their competition and what they are doing.

They obviously have a lot of money available and that might be something that people could really make their name.

I can't see why the webhost would be held responsible for the gambling sites action.. you have no control over them doing whatever they want right..

I think in some circumstances hosts are held responsible for what is done on their servers...
I know companies have been done before, but you can't expect a host to know what every client is doing on their account.
