I know that this topic has been talked about a few times but I want opinion from more experienced people. What freelance marketplace sites are the best for offering services? I'm a writer, marketer, and designer.

Most popular marketplaces are Freelancer.com, ScriptLance.com and vWorker.com (new name of Rentacoder).

Also I like Odesk for its pay-for-time work model.

I have experience both as buyer and seller on all four. For me the best is vWorker

I've seen Hotscripts.com mentioned a few times. I haven't used it myself though -- freelancing isn't my area of expertise.

Thanks for the links guys, I'll check them out. Actually, I have been registered on old Rentacoder ages ago and I don't know if they changed something, beside the name.

What about Elance.com? I think it's one of the most popular job marketplaces on the net. The other option is getafreelancer.com. I heard that Get a Freelancer arranged a logo making contest for the website itself.

talkfreelance.com is a great forum. I have used freelancer.com a number of times in the past (even have two projects going on there currently). Experience has been great with the people so far.

I've also done a couple of projects through ODesk, but never on Elance.

Oh, and getafreelancer.com has been absorbed by freelancer.com

Site Point is good for attracting good paying customers. It really all depends what type if freelancing you do. Web Design, Coding, Programming, etc....

I would have to say oDesk. It is the best that I have come across. You have protection for both the client and the service provider (you). There are a variety of tools and you have a nice list of categories....it is not just limited to graphic or web design. Best of all, you DO NOT have to pay to look at job postings or to get information about contacting/bidding on a project (or hourly position).

What happened to oDesk? I thought it was the "best one" :smash:

I think Odesk is the best one for sure. Like any other freelance site, you still have to learn how to get the best out of it.

Thanks for the links David! I'm going to bookmark this page and come back when I have some free time to check out the recommendations.
