Forum hosting transfer.

Hi there,

I'll admit that I am a complete beginner at this, so apologies in advance for any dumb questions.

We own a small WOWBB forum, with both the forum layout and hosting provided by WOWBB. However, we are increasingly frustrated with the ammount of down-time the server seems to be having at the moment.

We would like to move the existing layout of our forum to another host, so that that average user doesnt notice a change. I suspect that WOWBB forums can only be hosted on their own servers, but as the guy who started it in the first place is out of contact, we are really out at a limb now.

well I haven't used a wowbb, but is there anyway you can get the database and files? If so, then it's pretty easy to move.

If you have the database and files let me know and I can help you set it up on another server.

If their server using cpanel, then transferring your site is an easy task. But if this board can be only hosted by them, for some reason, then i suggest to change your forum software (vbulletin is a good option to move on) and check if the new software gives you the ability to copy your current forum.
 
If your forum is hosted by WOWBB itself, moving may not be easy. You may have to ask them to give you a copy of your files and database.
