Dumb question

How does selling a domain name work exactly? I had an inquiry about a domain name that I own but have not developed yet so I'm considering selling it. I own a bunch of domain names right now as I got carried away with a buy 1, get 1 free sale.

Are you selling the domain name only or there is a website going with it?

I beleive that you need to learn more that stuff. Forums like dntalks.com + domainnews.com/forum + domainstate.com must be learned to get more skils and knowledge.

If you are just selling the domain name, I believe you can just transfer owners through the site you used to purchase it. There should be instructions on the site for you to read over.

Another site you can use is sedo. com - they handled a domain sale for me very smoothly.

Always use an escrow service to settle your domain transaction. A god provider is sedo.com. Good luck.

The new owner must take care of that. I think that you have nothing to worry about with that.

If it is just the name they I would suggest you look into what VTGal said and see what the rules are for transferring the ownership to the other person. You definitely don't want to sell it only to find out you can't transfer it to them.
