Dreams..

What do you think of dreams, when you are asleep at night? Do you think they are trying to tell us something or what is their purpose?

I was watching a TV show last night, and some guy had a dream he was racing with another person, except the other person was driving a car and he was running down the highway.. a few nights later, he was sleep walking/running down the highway and he was struck by a transfer truck, killing him instantly.. now that is scary..

Hmm Im not sure, Maybe things like that are just coincidental, I think dreams are simply us continuing to think while we are asleep yet what we can remember puts a slightly twisted perspective on things. For instance I remember doing something simple and then dreaming about that even in a wacky and twisted way.

Thank you.

That is weird Gordy...
Never really heard of anything like that but Im sure people dream about things that do end up happening, even things they have no control over.

Sometimes I think dreams can be something with a meaning, maybe physic or something...other times I think dreams are just our imaginations while we are sleeping, sometimes our imaginations are a lot more vivid when we are sleeping though ;)

I think dreams are all of the above...

I dont claim to understand how our brains work, but I imagine when we are truely relaxed (ie sleeping) - our brain is able to function in a manner thats not inhibited by our social and learned restrictions.

Personally, Ive never been able to be physic, but damn have I tried... Every time I pick the Stanley Cup winner in October, it never seems to hold true in June :)

Oh Well - Go Leafs !!!! :)

So you're saying that because I dreamt that I was leading the SAS rescue mission on the iranian embassy I'm going to end up sleep walking into the embassy and start firing a gun? Freaky.

note: I actually dreamt that only unlike the real thing I screwed up and ended up falling from my rope but when I hit the ground I was still alive but then the embassy blew up. I think that's when I woke up because thats all I can remember.

Hehe now I do think our minds are more active and our imaginations are more vivid and "alive" when we are sleeping ;)

Something I always wondered was if any writer ever did a book after a dream...Im sure some dreams could stem into great stories

Well from the show last night, it could be quite possible for you to do so.. they were saying if you were a known sleepwalker, and you dreamed you were say in a marathon, you may actually end up trying it in your sleep, yet it seems you are wide awake to others.. that is really scary
