Domain Transfers

Has anyone ever done a transfer for a domain in less than 60 days of registration? And if so, is their any penalty? I'm just curious about getting a domain out of a certain registrar asap. I know ICANN has a 60 day limit, just wondering if it's possible to transfer by then or not?

if you registered through a normal ICANN-accredited registrar, you must wait 60 days before you can transfer the domain.

If you want to transfer the domains, you have to wait for 60 days after the renewal or registration..

Your registrar will not accept the transfer if it is done within 60 days after registration: ICANN regulations.

Some registrars lock it to 90 days as well, i think.

Not at all possible within 60 days, u have to survive with ur current registrar for 60 days.

I just noticed at godaddy, even if you make ANY changes to the account registrant. Then you must wait ANOTHER 60 days... A very lame policy as I see it. I haven't seen any other domain registrar have a policy of this type.
