Do you have any file sharing (p2p) programs?
Are you in favor of p2p programs or against them?
What do you think of the RIAA?
Do you think what they are doing is right or wrong?
Do you think they should do it but they are going about it the wrong way?

I use a few p2p programs but mainly just because I do things on the programs (ie. I used to be a beta tester on a program, I own a website for one program and also provide free email accounts for users of the program)

I really dont like the RIAA, what they are about and what they are doing.
They really have to take a look at what they are doing, none of the money they make frm the lawsuits even goes to the artists that they always say they are "protecting"
If anyone knows me from other sites or forums they will probably know Im totally against the RIAA.

I have also been coding a p2p program for well over a year now but have had to stop recently because I have been so busy (No I wont be saying the name :p)

P2P programs are a great idea, depending how people use it. THe main problem lately has been music artists think they are losing money.

All I have to say to that is "Get over it you fuckin grich bastards!"

I mean if people want to download a few of your songs just to listen to, whats the harm? I am against people that download entire albums and burn them however. Downloading a few songs to make a mix cd is like listening to the radio.... artists dont charge radio stations to play their music they use it as a source of advertising.

As John stated above none of the money collected from prosecuting individuals goes to the artists. I think artists should start sueing the government now! LOL

It's just a big mess. It will never be stopped... people will always find a way to pirate music/software/videos. Artists just need to get over it. True fans will buy the album and go see the concerts.

I agree with you 100% Jonathan, we, as people, will always find a way to "illegally" share the music.

I don't use anything myself, just make friends get me music and send me good songs every now and then.

I dont, although a few of my friends do. Although they dont use it for music, they use it for TV programs. I can see the problem with music in a way, in that they miss out on money, but on TV programs, surely it isnt so bad, as they are free for viewers anyway on TV?
