Hi

I joined m6.net hosting :thumbdown :mad:just a month. Website has been down 5 times already. And I somtimes want to upload my file in in their server but always has error message. Today this error occurs twice and it is still no one fix it.

Here is the error message : Error: Unable to change directory to /httpdocs/: ls_dir_wrapper() failed: Unable to read directory (C:\inetpub\vhosts\dejavuphotographic.com\httpdocs \): (5) Access is denied.

They are provide really bad service, always replied you that your website is running fine.

Even they are cheap but could you like your viewers can not access to your website, that is wasting my money. Lucky I only join 1 year, I was thinking to join 2 years (because they offer discount for 2 years). But I think that's a trap, so you have to be careful.

I complaint them all the times, but no one will care. They have no 24/7 support and no 30 days money back GUARANTEE that is what they show on their website.

So please find a better one.

Hi laidik,

I am very sorry to hear about your experience with M6.net. I have to be honest - I haven't really heard a lot of feedback (good or bad) about the company, and I don't have direct experience with them as a customer, but they seem to have been around for a while.

Could you also tell us what your URL is with them so you can help validate the review?

Regarding 30-day money back guarantee, I see they offer one on their plan features page:
http://www.m6.net/prices.aspx

If they outright refuse to refund you, repeatedly, and you are within the 30 days of the money back guarantee, I guess you could eventually contact your bank and ask what your options are. A chargeback may be in order.

Try to ask for a higher level tech/supervisor to handled your ticket - politely, as hard as it may be.

my website down again

Hi,

please go to my website now www.dejavuphotographic.com , always ask for login and password. How can the viewer visit to my website.

It was happened twice yesterday. Today, when I woke up, turn on the computer and check it, again now

Hi,

I just passed 30 days money back. It wasn't too bad before, but after my website over 30 days and the problem is keeping on and on. Now I couldn't access into control panel. My website ranking in Google wasn't too bad but now, I couldn't find my website when I seach. I think I have to join the old web hosting provider. I wouldn't try new one (cheap hosting)

I'm pulling up the site just fine. Don't be so sure that your Google ranking has anything to do with this..

As the case with the others, your website loads for me quickly, with no username/password questions asked.

of course my website is working fine now after I asked them to fix it, but you know what since I joined them just about a month, I have been creating over 20 tickets to them to solve the error problems. I still keeping it for in my record. If I can upload document in here, I can prove it

I just contact to my preivous web hosting provider and they are still keeping my web contents in their server, so I don't have to upload all files again. The problem is I didn't know where I move the files from one hosting to another hosting which will change the path.

I am not a programmer and my website is used asp which was done by my friend 5 to 6 years ago. When I uploaded all my website files to the server and those asp pages were not working, then I have been asking him for help. I feel very sorry to my friend and squeezing his time.

So I think I will join my previous web hosting and I won't change another hosting. I am really scare now!!

That's even worse!

I never thought about it before, so not sure what the industry standard is, but I thought hosting providers destroy (or at least should delete) the content that belongs to a client after after service termination... Sounds like a HUGE security risk and completely illegal thing to do, but what do I know, I am not a lawyer.

How is it a security risk and completely illegal? Is there a written law that makes it illegal to keep old customer content on a server?

The only time this would become an issue is if the hosting company uses the customer content in an unethical manner. But rest assured, no hosting company want to keep customer data in effort to conserve storage space.

There is always a risk when you store private information on a third party platform. You have to put a lot of trust in to a hosting provider.
Most people don't realize this but everything you put on your site, even if you think it is in private or secure folders, is accessible by the host.
You can hide nothing.

Most hosts of course will delete files after a client leaves.
Our policy is 3 days after account cancellation.

Apart from not being a lawyer myself so I don't know whether things like these are illegal or not. Probably not, but then I just don't know. However, thinking through this logically, what business does a hosting provider have keeping someone else's content when a contractual relationship finished? I understand keeping contact information on file if a client was to come back, but keeping his dirty laundry seems pointless and equals asking for trouble if the host gets hacked. Why the unnecessary liability? On top of that, why keep your server filled with content that nobody needs instead of creating more space for other members to use?

Just all the questions that came over me when I started to think about it. :)
