Distributed Computing - Can Hosters Benefit?

Hello to all,

We rent dedicated servers and most of the time we have several spare servers that are sitting idle waiting for new customers to contract them. Some of these are very powerful servers.

We have all our expenses (electricity, bandwidth, etc.) already covered so having them on or off does not change our costs.

So this is where the idea of "Distributed Computing" comes in, and the possibility of utilizing such idling servers to generate some additional income while they are not being used for regular hosting contracts.

I have gathered a list of "Distributed Computing" services available at this time.
I have began to study these but have found that most are geared to attract idle personal computer power and not powerful dedicated servers.

Here's a list of "Distributed Computing" services URL's that I have found so far:
https://secure.slicify.com/
http://www.gomezpeerzone.com/
http://cloud.mql5.com/en
http://www.coinbeez.com/
https://coingeneration.com/
http://dbcloudexchange.com/en-uk/

Has anybody else thought about this possibility or has first hand experience with "Distributed Computing" pool or the services listed above?

I would be interested to hear your experiences or comments on this topic.

Thanks and regards,

No, not thought of distributed computing as in advertising that. Either hosts have single servers with space/clients allocated to them or a farm of servers all working as one giant server offering redundancy when needed.
