Developing a Wiki

A few days ago while randomly thinking of browsing for things, I decided to check out if it was possible to create an entire Wiki of your own - and yes it is.

Anyways, long story short, I'm really into video games, and there's been only one "global" wiki that I have seen, and it doesn't even cover that much (Just a few hundred pages).

How would you go about creating one?

Is there a certain "company" or "program" to develop one? If yes, which one is most suggested?

How many people does it usually take to develop a large-topicked Wiki on a subject such as the one I'd like to create - or at least an "ish" amount?

If all you have is an interest in the subject, with no commercial/personal gain in mind, you could always contribute to an already existing wiki. That's the whole philosophy behind them, isn't it? :)

Would need a lot of people

To be a truly comprehensive resource, I would think that you would need a lot of people even if they were prolific writers. If you want to develop a complete gaming resource, just think of all the aspects (from development to playing), all the platforms, etc. That's a lot of pages!

Well I'd want to start a fresh one because of the one that I know of looks absolutely horrible to begin with. It doesn't even have a lot of pages (A few hundred...like 600-something). I don't like their design or anything. :smash:
