Designers and SEO

How many web designers have been studying SEO lately? Not many eh? Well, SEO firms and marketing serach firms are making TONS of money, I went to the SES, or Search Engine Strategies 2005 in Chicago a few weeks ago. It was great, tons of huge companyes, including google, yahoo, ask jeeves, and msn were there. What surprised me where the smaller companies with 6-12 members. They were making good money and there isnt too much to it. If you are in web design these days, you gotta know what you are doing when it comes to SEO.

I think it would be a good idea to do some studying of SEO. Can you recommend any good books or sites?

Google. SEO is based of google so you can search for seo, thats the best place. As far as specific sites, ill try to look some up.

web designers rarely take into consideration seo and only go for the looks.
