Hi everyone,

Just wondering who like me will be beta testing the cPanel server suite when it becomes available. Looking at the feature list it looks quite good.

Hey Rob,

Thanks for the URL , well I am really curious to use it now I will surely try it on my windows servers.
Lets hope for the best.

I am very interested in this product. I have applied for beta tester.

It seems that this release is for windows 2008, i don't understand why there is no release for windows 2003, but i am really curious to see the behaviour of cpanel under windows servers.

Looking forward to this as I am a big cPanel fan and would love to start using it on windows as well. I imagine it's going to at some point start to integrate with the linux side of things resulting in a hsphere like environment which will be great.

It could be happening, but I can't help but wonder, how many years this catchup game will take, and where H-Sphere might be (features wise) by then.

Well for cPanel 11 a lot of the code was rewritten. The reason for this was so they could manage the code easier in the future and I believe add more features. They even hinted at the splitting other services up. So it would not surprise me that within the next year cPanel starts to support the splitting of the control panel itself, mail ect.

If the features are good...I believe I may want to move my clients onto a CPanel whm based server on Windows...theyd get the advantage of php and real asp as well...I hope things work out and the production is sooner than later.

Regards

IIS 7 is the main reason for that :). The developers were very impressed about the performance and capabilities of IIS 7 over IIS 6 and as such, they re-focused their efforts away from a product for Microsoft Windows Server(R) 2003 to Microsoft Windows Server(R) 2008.

Note that the official name of the product is cPanel Server Suite(TM) for Microsoft Windows Server(R) 2008.

I know forum moderators dislike when I discuss products that are not yet released, so all I will say is that if you read the information about scalability carefully, you will notice one major difference between this product compared with cPanel/WHM.

I have no idea when this is coming out, but I hope it is coming out soon. The CPanel Conference is going to be in a few weeks and I think it may be discussed then

Actually, we have 2 sessions covering cPanel Server Suite for Microsoft Windows Server(R) 2008 at this year's conference.

If only I could make it - maybe next year... Be interesting to see what the confrence is like.
