Consolidating Sites??

So lately I've been contemplating consolidating vpsguy.com & tjphippen.com. At this point I've got the 2 sites to manage and since VPS Guy is just me anyways why not just offer VPS under tjphippen.com? There would be relatively no change to my existing VPS customers other then the support area location..

What do you think? Any potential negative consequences?

Nope I think its a great business tool/idea because you will have two separate companies each with VPS. Some customer could choose VPS guy over your another for some crazy reason but you still get the money for it.

No, what I meant was to move all VPS Guy services/traffic over to tjphippen.

Now Do you want to move all your services/traffic over to tjphippen to reduce cost? If so then go for it. But if it was me and cost was not a factor I would have both of them for the reason I stated above.

It's not about cost, more about time, though time = money.
Some mite like the idea of running multiple sites/businesses and it's certainly one way to grab some extra business, but I'm only 1 man and I'm soooo swamped right now it's not even funny. Also I'm considering that having 1 site to advertise(once things slow down a bit) I can be a bit more effective..

I think you already know what you are going to do regardless but in my opinion I think you should go with your gut. time = money so I say either sell vpsguy.com to get some money or keep like you said and use it for advertising.

Is there a reason the subhosting site on tjphippen.com is not accessible? Don't know how long either site has been online, or your client base on each - or the amount of branding you've developed for each. I think as long as you explain the process to your clients, they won't have an issue with the consolidation. :)

This is a great article

This is a great article. I’m new to blogging but still learning. Thanks for the great resource.

Go for it, time does equal money. If you are spending more time then for what its worth, make it easier on yourself. I don't see why your customers should have a problem if you explain to them that this will free up more of your time to give them better service ;)

As expected this has given me a bit more time. :) Also I'm now managing all my VPS, and only taking orders by direct contact. It's sort of filtered my business into a more one on one type of thing, which I love :)
