Do you play computer games? I just got a copy of battlefield 1942. I have not played it yet but I will tonight.

I got post 10,001 :D
 
I didnt play games for years, then I was getting bored too often without any work to do so decided to get a few, just to see if I could do that when I was bored.

Found out after trying 3 games that my computer doesnt handle games too well...it stopped working during all 3 hehe
Its powerful enough to run them and it never has problems when Im not playing games so not sure whats wrong.
Dont have any clue about things to do with games

Maybe someone here can help me :)
 
Well you need to make sure you have the newest version of Direct X and drivers for you graphics cards. What games are they?

NOTE: Some games simply don't work with a laptop. Something to do with the graphics card.

I have the latest version of DirectX installed and the latest drivers.
Hmm cant really remember the games but think they were unreal tournament, black and white and....hmm cant remember the other now.

I am trying to play the on a PC so wouldnt be anything to do with a laptop problem.

I have worked out that my computers really do hate me...
I started watching a DVD last night and it froze.... :rolleyes:
This is the same problem I had with my last computer and I bought a new one because I changed EVERYTHING in hardware terms but my PC still froze.
Now Im thinking its some software I have installed which is running...
Cant think of anything I have running all the time though, nothing visual thats showing in the taskbar anyway
 
What are the specs on your machine... be sure to include name brands etc.


most of the time if you are experiencing video drop out either in gaming or video watching it is due to a memory buffer overflow... which you see with a lot of PC100 and PC133 SDRAM sticks.

If you have DDR... try switching the DIMM Slots your memory is in as well. You also want to make sure that in your BIOS that the AGP Apenture is set right. A lot of people leve it on 32MB even when they have a 64MB or even 128MB video card.

As to playing games I play a lot of:
Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, C&C Generals
