Comodo goes offline - Trustlogos cause site slowdown

Hi everyone,

Do you remember last year when Comodo had problems with their Trustlogo site and it caused slowdowns for users as it has to call back to comodo to get the certificate information?

Well it's happened again!!

The site no longer responds. As such, anyone with a trustlogo on their site will experience increased slowdowns for their site. The entire "http://www.comodo.com" site is acutally offline at this time.

We've posted notes to our customers on our sites, but I figured we'd put something here for HD users who are not hosting with us.
 
Appears to have been resolved here about 5 mintues ago. At least their site is showing up now.

Maybe that "online backup" promotion they're running on their main page was put to good use for themselves :)
 
Online for me. It's really nice to see the heads up on this rather than simply responding to complaints. Kudos!
 
It looks like the total outage was only about 45 minutes today, much better than last year where they were out for HOURS - I believe it was in excess of a day, but I can't find my notes on the event. I remember the date (May 11th 2008), but I can't find any of my notes or announcements on it :(

Anyway, at least it's online now and all is working. I just wish that Comodo would acknowledge the event and post something in their site about it. Instead they act as if there was never an issue.

You're absolutely right. Taking responsibility goes so much further toward minimizing churn.
