commit1.com + partnership = bad news

Hey WHT,

So, I needed to time to rant and ask you of what you think of this. There is a new company around the forum(s) called commit1.com. They have been picking hosting companies up and soliciting them.

About two months ago, they had IM'd me and asked if we would like to reseller their dedicated servers since we did not currently sell deds or co-location (Because, I had no intentions to at this point of the game).I said yes and I'll luanch under a new name. Not a huge deal.

I asked about their website. Well it will be up in two to three days. Two months later they had gotten a phpBB forums up. So much for the site being up.

On top of this, I had request more information via e-mail. I needed pricing ect well they sent an initial response and and would have liked to see them in a different format like 1 mbps instead of 500 GB for $70.00/month. It has been a month now and stilll not heard back.

Many of their guys are on AIM all the time. I keep on IMing them asking for the datacenter they are located in. They will not provide it because they say the URL is not important and neither is the datacenter.

Finally, after being pushed around I said hell with it. You lie, you are not cooperating, and it is my butt that is doing the work to sell for you. Come back with "That is how your going to act. It seems like your not a team player. and your against us."

So, for all of you who find commit1.com do not partner with them or use their service. If you do not know wht datacenter the servers will be in, and very little about them it is not worth it. I'll stay happy in Equinix.

It seems silly not to tell you the datacenter. It's not like you can't find out after you sell the first server.

In al, I think you decided to do the right thing. (That is not to do anything.)

Reseller?

BNH, thank you for taking the time to post. First of all, you are NOT a reseller of ours. At the time when you were requesting all of this information we were busy trying to gather and get everything in order. You kept requesting information that could have been easily read on our site once it was launched. You simply came to us saying that no other "established" host would accept you, and you were motived, and could sell servers. The deal with you was not even finalized. Why would we release information to you if we weren't even ready to push sales? Have you sent us your business liscense? This post just doesn't make sense. Now we understand why you would be working with yourself. You need to understand that sometimes you don't get what you want in life all of the time, and you don't have to cry about it. We have a bunch of resellers, and all of them would be more than happy to vouge for us. Thank you, and have a good day :)

Hello, BNH as another employee at commi1 I would like to explain further more on why we did not answer you. For the last 3 months we have been working on a price list, a place to colocate and host our servers at. We have been looking for people to provide tech support/help with our tickets. We were not ready then for any customers because we were just barely getting started. Now we are going to have our site launched in a few days and we have our tech support team going pretty well. Our goal is to slove tickets in less then 15mins. We hope we can live up to that. If you would like to serv with us you are still welcome to do so.
Thank you, and have a good day :)

I know the person who is working on Commit1's site, and it is not their fault it is not up.

There is something that doesn't make sense here.

According to commit1anthony
We have a bunch of resellers, and all of them would be more than happy to vouge for us.

But according to Commit1 Venkat
Now we are going to have our site launched in a few days and we have our tech support team going pretty well.

If the site is not ready how do you have a "bunch" of resellers already, and if you do have all of these resellers why did you not give Zachary the information he was looking for?
Also, according to Zachary you guys IM's him with a proposal. Which is it?

For the record Zachary, this is HD not WHT.

The webmaster working on Commit1's site is doing alot of business with us. Before releasing the site, we are trying to get everything perfected. No one has put blame on anyone for the site not being up. The whole reason this post was brought up was because BHNsales caught feelings due to the fact that we were not wanting him as a reseller at the time he wanted to resell.

It means exactly what it says. We do have resellers, and we weren't accepting anymore at this time due to the work load we have on us. I am not going to sit here and argue with a 17 year old kid that assumes his company is going to be top-notch. I do not wish bad upon any competitor. I and Zachary have had many discussions via AIM. He explained that no one was accepting him as a reseller, and I specifically told him what our status was. The fact is, he began to whine when our staff members were not responding to him. He was eager for information that did not need to be let out to him before finalizing anything. Also, we have not seen his business liscense and/or given him permission to resell for us. Zachary caught a FIT when he approached our staff members asking if we could give him 3 days to make payment on servers he setup with us, which we denied. He also requested servers to be setup within 12 hours of ordering. If you had any professionalism or even want to think about reselling for companies, I suggest you work out a better business plan. before making your approach. Basically, we told you we'd give you a shot once things were organized, when we weren't giving you what you wanted and when you wanted it, you started to whine. As I said, I apologize for any inconvinience that this may have caused you. You just seem way over your head which may cause you problems in the long run. All everyone hears from you is that you company is the best. Cheers, and good luck to any future companies that may work with you.

So you were already signing up resellers?

Why didn't you just tell him that you weren't interested?

What was your "status" that you told him? It looks like your status was you didn't have a website but you were accepting resellers, but you were not accepting this particular reseller.
Did you explain this to him?

We honestly was considering on giving him a shot at reselling for us. He's been told serveral times that we're working on the site. He knew what our main focus was at that time, which was the site/pricing. When he started demanding information and was not provided, that is how this post was started. I hope you all understand clearly now.

Anthony,
I don't think I quite fully understand. You want to offer services, but you can't inform those that you contact/solicit or those that contact you with specifics? Correct? Sounds like you needed to do some more planning and have the information readily available.

I think if ANYONE is going to sell/resell/purchase a service from you, you need to have all answers readily available for the interested party and be willing to share them without hesitation.

"demanding information and was not provided" well, that sounds like a legit reason to be frustrated. I could understand you not wanting to give out your personal specifics, but as far as pricing and connection goes - those are legit questions.

When I walk into a store, if there isn't a price tag on the shelf for a product I want, I ask. If the employee cannot tell me, or refuses to tell me, why should I shop there?

Totally understand where you are coming from. Our point is, as stated above.. set pricing was being changed. He was told the site/pricing was being prepared yet he still insisted on retrieving information. When the information could not have been delivered to him, he obviously got offended. We did not approach him, he approached us, so there really was not anything to "prepare". The only solution we had was to advise him to wait, which he couldn't do.

Well I am not a 17 year old kid, and I have service with Commit1. Ever since I moved one of my servers to their datacenter from another one, the server went two years only having 68 minutes of downtime in two years. Ever since I have been with commit1, I think we are at about 9 hours of dowtime so far THIS MONTH. So you can say in a nutshell we have been very unhappy. We can see if they can get our servers back online after 8 hours of downtime today alone.
