For owners of web hosting companies here, how much do you pay commission to your affiliates? I know it wouldn't be feasible to pay your affiliates 75% of the selling price, like what ebook sellers usually do.
There are many ways to do it. Personally I like giving 50% commission first sale then monthly 15% commission as long as that client is still signed up with us.
There are many ways of doing it you could also have special policies where its only monthly payouts or what ever.
What kind of service will you be offering for your affiliates?
Affiliate Earning Percentage: 25% recurring (percentage of each payment made by the referral affiliates will receive - as long as the referral's account is active)
Thanks guys for sharing. I think 15% - 25% is quite reasonable for hosting business. I notice that most of you pay recurring commission to your affiliates. Could we still attract affiliates by offering one time commission?
We're not into affiliate marketing, but if I were considering pushing someone else's business, I'd focus on those that pay a recurring commission of some kind. I wouldn't want to start at zero commission each month.
We pay affiliates as below with all commissions being paid as credit to their hosting account
Affiliate Earning Percentage 15% (percentage of each payment affiliates will receive on all aff sales)
Affiliate Bonus Deposit £5.00 (the amount affiliates will receive in their account after signing up)
Affiliate Payout Amount £50 (the minimum amount affiliates have to reach before making a withdrawal)
Affiliate Commission Delay 14 (the number of days to delay commission payments - then only pays if account is still active)
30% recurring on shared and vps it varies. We also offer services to help improve leads, custom landing pages etc and if they are really serious we can provide other services to improve their leads.
No "bonus" for signing up but lower payout level.
Screening affiliates and auditing their methods is always good to improve success rates for you and them... creates less fraud orders and improves sign up rate.
We do 25% per sale and never considered to offer those crazy "50% +" commissions that many other web hosts do, especially in the Shared Hosting niche. It not possible to make it unless the whole business is not turned into one big financial scheme where the quality does not matter.
We use a tiered level payout system and we have some of the highest payout rates in the hosting industry.
$65 Referrals 1-5
- $80 Referrals 6-10
- $110 Referrals 11+
Right now we are offering our affiliates 20% of the comission. We have not had that many affiliates, but I think the percentage is great when it comes to webhosting.

I got commission from 25 to 100$ and know about programs that offer 150$ and even 200$ ( this is for limited times and a number of sales ).
So you kind of decide how much you want to pay.
