Cloud Infrastructure Platforms

Hi guys,

We run OpenNebula based Cloud. Yesterday we ran into a very weird software issue, having one of the VMs in "Pending" status after a reboot, without being able to do nothing. We're speaking with the OpenNebula support and are about to deepen our knowledge of this Cloud automation PaaS. It is not what I would like to chat to you however.

I was wandering what kind of Cloud IaaS and/or PaaS platform you guys use (have experience with) to create and managing Cloud infrastructure? I mean specifically for creating Virtual Instances (VMs)?

We use OnApp and love it. It's very powerful and feature rich, although a little pricey, the support is amazing and they will go above and beyond to assist you with anything you need help with. You get what you pay for and I highly recommend OnApp for Cloud.

CloudStack or OpenStack is good. They are having good uptime with stability and most important security.

Updates are available and not redundant in market.

In my last company we had a platform based on open stack which needed quite a lot of dev work, at my present company we use onapp, I wouldn't have the technical knowledge to say which is better but opapp as an out of the box solution does seem to have a lot more set up.
