Client Exec or Modern Bill?

An interesting topic ofcourse. Which have you used and which do you prefer? I am tempted to use Modern Bill! Tell me what your feelings are on both!

Very interesting since I was under the impression that this board has more CE users (but maybe not!). I use CE and chose it because I preferred the end user experience of it and hoped my clients would too. It had to have what I needed in a billing/support system as well, of course, and it more than does the job there. Hoping that 2.5 goes that extra mile and keeps me a CE customer for a long while.

Hopefully we don't have just CE users on this forum. That would make it a very boring community ;)

I'm biased but surely CE is the easiest application to use unless you need features it currently does not support.

I use CE and tell others about it as well. This can't be a one sided forum as AlEast just stated. Don't want it to be a few forums I already know

yes, that's why I said "more" hehe. Got to admit that when a lot of people are driven here by CE-based promotions, there would be lots of us here. But, yes, variety is the spice of life. I really did consider Modernbill and it was within budget but I really didn't need it.

We personally are starting to get annoyed with ModernBill, few errors that can't seem to be resolved. But it only happens with some people... mmmm.

What about WHMAP?

I use clientexec currently but I will be switching to modernbill. Clientexec just can't handle dedicated server orders. There is no ability to add options or addons to a package.

Yeah I've been a bit annoyed with this myself lately. And I'm not overly impressed with the way that ClientExec treats clients that purchased from a reseller. Although I don't expect ClientExec to support clients of the reseller, I do expect them to clarify promises that they had made but failed to follow through with.

I too use CE and would have to agree on that as it is a major headache. However, I've tried MB and have no intention on switching back.

Hopefully, we can see some enhancements to the current signup structure by v3.0... ;)

It still needs a lot of work. Its lacking package options, addons, coupons, account balances and credits.

We use modernbill for our company but we offer both modernbill & clientexec to our clients. We include clientexec in all of our reseller packages. They are both good in their own right and it totally depends on what the user needs to accomplish with the software. It would be like comparing MS notepad to MS Word as far as features go.

I have personally tried both MB and CE, and my feeling is MB is way too overcomplicated for it's features. I love the fact it has all the features, but it seems to overcomplicate the whole process for me. I'm sticking it with CE, even if they don't have -all- the features yet. Development seems to be rapidly progressing now, and I've watched it jump a few leaps and bounds between 2.3 and the latest 2.5 Beta. :)
