City vs Country

Really simple question: Where do you prefer (and like) to live - in the city or outside of it? Please provide supportive arguments.

Personally, I am a city boy. I grew up in the city of 15 million, and I cannot imagine living outside of the city because I like busy life, street noise - it inspires me in some way and pushed me to work harder. A few times I went to relax in the country and got bored every single time - there are just not as many things you can do compared to a city. Not to mention bugs, mosquitoes and other undesirables that I can't stand. So any big city works out for me just fine.

Currently residing in Montreal, with the largest student population in North America (160,000 students) and #1 city in Canada entertainment-wise. Its population is 2 million (3.5 with suburbs), some may say a lot, but even with all that it started to bore me. So I am thinking of possibly moving to New York in 3-5 years.

Best,

You don't have a "both" option.

I have lived in both the city and the country and I'm equally comfortable in each.

I'm not a huge fan of the city or the country. I am very comfortable with the suburbs. Close enough to the city to feel apart of everything that goes on, but far enough away not to deal with problems of a huge metropolis. If I had to choose between the two, I would go with city.

Same here except I'd choose country if I had to choose. I hate the city life it's too fast for my personal taste. I guess I'm just the type of guy that likes the simple things in life :D.

I've lived all my life so far in the city where I was born. I like it here, it's a 250,000 souls city, so rather small. It has virtually no night life, but I spend my nights on the internet anyway, so that doesn't mean much to me. :)

The country's capitol is just 60KM away, and I have relatives there, so I've seen it a few times. It's very-very busy, much too busy for my taste, with a population of over 2 million. I really don't see myself living there, but I wouldn't mind visiting it from time to time.

I guess the suburbs are for me... Not the country though. It's much too underdeveloped around here. For example, people still use wells as their water supply.

I did a google search and this one here is a Romanian well; it is used by farmers for their needs around the house: http://www.people.fas.harvard.edu/~patrascu/photos/punghina/fantana.jpg

The things you get to see where I live... :)

City. Too many problems getting high speed internet out that far. I have friends who live on the EDGE of the city, just before it really gets out into "no-man's-land" and they can't get anything but dialup or satellite.

Also it's close to work, schools, stores, everything. City.
