Chrome gets the second look

I have been trying to really love the latest Google's browser Chrome, but I keep coming back to Firefox.

Chrome has generally been outperforming other browsers, including Firefox. Here is one recent performance comparison in a pretty graphical summary:
http://sixrevisions.com/infographs/browser-performance/

In spite of all the recent results, I seem to always come back to Firefox. Perhaps its the add-ons I got used to, or the application itself, but something doesn't quite add up to my experience with Chrome that betters Firefox.

What browser(s) are you using and which do you find the most efficient in your work?

This is true. I always end up going back to Firefox and I honestly think it's the Addons and Themes that get me. Now don't get me wrong, Chrome has plenty of great addons but Firefox is just vast as far as these extra little features go.

Best regards,
David Vazquez

I've also tried to use Chrome, but found myself back at Firefox. I'm not too fond of Chrome's "tabs-on-top" design.

You just reminded me that its actually one of the reasons. I have webcam software that automatically rolls out (so annoying btw) when I move my mouse at the top of the screen - exactly where Chrome tabs are. I would have probably liked it more if not for that. I realize that its not Chrome's fault, but with most PCs nowadays being notebooks and netbooks... at least its worth giving an option to bring those tabs down.

I don't mind a bigger browsing screen real estate though.

I love chrome for just everyday use, it outperforms firefox every time.
In certain instances (with certain addons loaded) firefox seems slower then IE. Plus firefox crashes on me daily.

Only time I ever use firefox is during web development. (firebug)

Assuming chrome continues on the way it currently is, I think i'll be using this bad boy going forward.

I prefer Google Chrome, I use to use IE (Yes...Lmfao) then I got tired of it, crashing...errors...Got on my nerves.

I tried Firefox for a bit, but I never seemed to like it, but ever since I tried Google Chrome, I fell in love. =P Works like a charm.

Chrome is fast and there is a lot to like about it but I prefer Firefox because of the add ons that help me on numerous fronts. If Chrome starts to get more good add ons I'll consider it in the future.

Recently deleted Chrome from my desktop - again. Still using IE8, although I do plan to try FireFox this week (third attempt). :D

Steve, I had the same difficult time moving away from IE a couple of years back, but I got sold on one feature and that's address bar search - you just type where you want to go and it gives you URL matches of popular pages. Nice feature.

It is also somewhat similar environment (the learning curve is not that big), and its definitely faster than IE.

Speed really isn't a problem for me here or at home, but I still plan to reinstall Firefox to compare the two browsers again. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised this time around. :D

I couldn't stand Chrome. I program in Java and the look and feel of it just makes it feel like an amateurish Java program. It makes me uncomfortable. It looks like it is fragile and lacking substance, and I really just couldn't get past that.

Hi Guys,

The most easily extensible browser is Firefox with so many add-on options which none other gives.Chrome are not expandable like Firefox.I love firefox and I dont use chrome for ever.

I have been giving Chrome another chance. I have been using it exclusively for the past 2 days and so far not so bad. I do think that it is less customizable than Firefox, although is in fact faster.

Chrome...i like it..
in your comparison also...in Overall performance Chrome in on top.. :-)
firefox i use very rarely....may be someone else's computer when i am not on mine...then a possibility.
