Hey guys, seems like most of the stores are switching to Christmas modes. Is it time to start shopping already?

How much are you planning to spend on presents this year?

I don't even want to think about it. I was in a Toronto mall in mid October and Sears had christmas trees, decorations and wrapping paper for sale. Way too early. December is a hectic month for us in the shop, so everything is left til the last minute. Shopping gets done the week before and tree goes up a few days before. With little ones, it makes it much easier. And nothing under the tree until christmas eve.

As for spending, ???? As the kids grow, so do the prices.

I didn't notice this here yet, but I expect it to happen in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

How much are you planning to spend on presents this year?

I have no specific targets, but, as Art already knows, I'm trying to raise some money. A spending frenzy is definitely out of the question. Pretty much everyone here is what you would call "poor", so presents tend to be frugal anyway.

Heck, we even have our tree booked to arrive on Dec. 1st

My brother bought a scarf for his girlfriend. I think it makes for a nice present.

I hate the christmas rush.

There's nothing worse than going to a toy store (or any store for that matter) in December. It's like a feeding frenzy.

I've only got my mum to buy for now, I picked up gifts for my family this past two weeks. For an age 17 student, I've not done bad on spending. I'd estimate around £250 give or take so far on gifts

£250... That's some 2 average wages here. Obviously that's out of the question for the majority of people where I live.

If I bought my girlfriend a Scarf, she'd probably dumb me. We getting like 40Celcius every day..Hell, I'll buy a trip to the Artic before I go near wool!
