Charter & high speeds

It looks as those Charter is rolling out some more high speed for people soon but is it going to be enough? Sometimes my residental and my business lines flake out from the issues going on with Quest and their almost constant problems with having not nearly enough resources for their clients. Anyone else on Charter?

I'm not on Charter; but there's some speculation - and even an admission in an SEC filing - that they will be forced to declare bankruptcy soon. Many of their debts are coming due soon, and apparently along with eroding customer bases and executives who try Stupid Sales Tricks, they have subsidiaries who aren't making their payments to Charter.

Well there's another wonderful thought. This is the first I have seen of the bad economy really hitting the online world so far-maybe I'm just blinkered to it, but it seemed that the online world had weathered the storm a little better than the rest of the world.

Charter's problems have been a long time building. They've been holding off debts for a long time...and now they're all coming due. They gambled that they'd be solvent and doing well by this point. Sadly, the overall global economical support wasn't there...and they'd provided lackluster service for so long that they've gotten a negative reputation in many quarters.

I think Charter should be OK financially.
I used to hold some Charter Bonds.
However, they called these bonds several months ago.
If a company is short of money, they will not call their bonds early (call bonds = retire the bond before they expires).
I sold my Charter Bonds when there were called.

It's a wait-and-see game with Charter but I think cable providers are always going to have trouble providing what they actually offer unless they really build up their nodes. Most nodes only have 30~38mbps down and 10~30mbps up actually available in my experiences.
