Canadian Domain Register

What's the best place to register canadian (.ca) domains? I'm also looking for some good prices too. Usually most places I've seen it's quite expensive, even in US dollars. Mabye some of the .ca users know more about CA registers?

When I had my .ca domains ... I just got them through Dotster. They are not the cheapest ... but they are far from being the most expensive. I "think" they are about $20 USD.

I used Dotster mostly for convenience. All my other domain names are with them ... so it made it quite easy to manage them all. :)

wow, if that's 16 USD, than it's still somewhat pricy for me. I'll check out the site and thanks for the link bobchrist :D

I have used http://papa.ca before (Canadian version of GoDaddy).

I have also recently registered a .CA name through NameCheap, and liked the experience more than with Papa.ca.

Best,

Hi,

Country specific domains are normally expensive than common TLDs, So i think it is little bit difficult to get .ca less than $16.00.

A friend on mine has registered *.ca domains through HostPapa, which he also uses for hosting. They give you the first domain free of charge, and I believe they are quite reasonably priced for any other domains, especially if you are hosting with them. Other than that, I've heard that Dotster is a good option, though they're far more expensive than Host Papa.

Harry with .CA domains (me being Canadian) buy form a good registar - with .CA you need to complete the CIRA forms. the difference is $20 a year to the cheapest $12 or $ 13 and the $8 saving can cost you a lot of pain - usually in systems management etc
the cost for .CA to CIRA domain registars i beleive is $10
