Bonfire Night Plans

For those who celebrate bonfire night on the 5th November... where do you go? what do you do?

I usually go to a local bonfire at Roundhay Park in Leeds or Bramley Park. This year I got some free tickets to LegoLand in Windsor... so I am going there. LOL.

Bonfire Night is cool. It's a kinda wierd celebration of when 13 dudes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament. One of these people was called Guy Fawkes.

Anyway, for an actual real bit of information, click below:

But, we celebrate the burning of Guy Fawkes every year on Nov 5th by having a big bonfire, and lots of fireworks. People also put what is called a 'Guy' on their fires to represent the man himself. A 'Guy' is kind of like a scarecrow made out to be Guy Fawkes.

There's a lot of dodgy stuff about that story. Like the "confession" signed by Guy Fawkes was very strange. The signature looked either completely fake or signed after an exteremely long torture session.

Did anyone watch the TV program on the other night where they got 1 ton of gunpowder and made a building with the same specs as the real one and blew it up. Was pretty cool!

I've nothing planned - In the end I'll probably end up doing more work. I've lots of things to get finished, so don't really have the time. But they don't celebrate it in France, so even if I wanted to there isn't anywhere to go to celebrate it.

When I lived in England, I didn't really do much. Sometimes I'd go to celebrations, otherwise I'd just stay at home or already have something else planned.

That was amazing!

We used to have bonfire night over here on a different date but we just have all celebrations on Halloween now.
Every area in the North used to have bonfires (Not for the same thing) but they are banned here now.

I love Halloween here, everyone gets to be a child for a night ;)

My city, Derry, is very well known for Halloween.
It's a disaster trying to get in anywhere after 9pm.
Luckily enough I'm a weekend regular in a bar in the town here and that's normally good at Halloween, got in there without any problems.

I enjoyed my bonfire weekend!! It was beauty. I went to two seperate fireworks displays, and had a lot of fun with my mates. Plus, we've all decided to try grow mustaches, which is also going to entertain us for a while.

I hope all is un rough now GordyMac. You have now learned something new :) It's just a once a year thing on the 5th November.
