whos the best in the market we should be looking for?
how do we manage to get visibility in the market and sell our space ?
whats the best advertisment way?

Honestly, I think you should start on a reseller, and then as you get more and more clients, eventually climb up to a dedicated server. No sense in spending $100 a month for lots of space you dont even use at first.

It is best to go Dedicated if you no what you are doing because it is most likely Unmanaged unless you have a high budget.

If you are comfortable to go Dedicated here are your answers:
1. Depending on what your use for it is... if it is high rating forum don't go with a small server, if it is a starting hosting company you could get a Celeron 2.4 which will cover it for a time being

2. Does not make sense

3. You can but each company leads differently...

4. Hard to tell because people post good / bad reviews for the same company so you can never really tell.

5. Being active on the active forums such as Hosting Discussion, and being truthful and loyal to your customers.

6. There are lots, Forum Advertising, Some companies are now doing Newspaper Ads and Commercials, ask customers to reffer people.... but Banner Advertising works all the time :)

Let me know if you need more information.

krishna, if you want to start out in the web hosting industry managing your own services, then I would recommend you sign up for a VPS (Virtual Private Server). However, many web hosts have started out with a reseller account from a well established web hosting provider.

As dubs said, it is unlikely you will be able to pay off your expenses if you simply decide to start with a dedicated server.

In addition to choosing the right hosting package, you should also consider issues such as how you will support your clients if something goes wrong.

Part of that is true, part of it is not. If you have the money to invest, then go for it. resellers usually start of with those packages because of lack of funds. If you dont have funds, your advice would be the best.

Cheers

I would have to agree. If you plan on making the best return on your investment and do not wish to be restricted by someone elses rules and offerings, then dedicated is your best option. There are many hosting companies that can help you meet your needs. Also if you are not sure on how to run a dedicated server than you should try and go with a managed or at minimum a semi-managed server. This will free you up to run your business and still give you the benefit of a dedicated server without the hassle. Also considering the price of managed servers now, this is not a bad option.

good luck

I strongly agree on his post. If your asking these questions, you might want to start on a reseller account, learn some stuff about dedicated servers from forums such as this, then move forward.

I would definitly recommend going with cPanel as your main control panel for your dedicated server. Check the SPECIAL offer forum to find good deals, you wouldn't want to start off with something to high-end maybe a simple AMD/CELERON would work and you could always upgrade as business goes on and escalades. I hope this helps you, Good luck in finding your server and we hope you go with someone that will take care of you.
