best free ftp client

Which FTP program is the best?
I use SmartFTP but I'm not sure how their license works...
It says you can't use it for commercial use, but not sure what would be considered commercial.
Also want to try out some other clients to see if there is something better out there that I haven't tried yet

Oh yes I have to agree with Monaghan, Filezilla is the best one to use if you want a free one, I have found that Smartftp with each upgrade seems to be slower and more of a resource hog on my system. I think Filezilla is even better than many paid FTP programs.

Has anyone tried BulletProof FTP?
It looks very good but on their site there is a link to download and to buy, so I'm not sure how the license works for it.

I've used Bulletproof FTP Server before and found no problems with it.

FTP server?
I think they have a client and server out, have you tried the client?
I think I will go with either SmartFTP or Bulletproof and buy the commercial license.
They are great products so well worth paying for and supporting the development :)

I hosted some files for a while from my home PC.

Never used the client.

FlashFXP.

You can download an unlimited trial. The only thing is you need to wait one minute before you can start using it every time you load it up. Otherwise, it is literally the best FTP client available, ever. I miss it a lot, as there is no Linux equivalent.

FlashFXP makes file uploading and downloading a breeze. The interface is nice, new and fresh. It is very very fast. And there is no learning curve at all; it's easy to get going from with from the word Go. You'll definitely never change once you start using it. It's only flaw I'd have to say is not also being on Linux. :P

But definitely give it a try, it's certainly worth it.
