Backordering domains

Greetings,

I would like to backorder a domain that is about to expire. Do you know who provides the best service in that regard, with the highest succession rate?

Thanks for any tips.
 
Pool.com and Snapnames.com - Since there are no up-front fees unless they manage to catch the domain name, I'll recommend using both.
 
The domain in question is registered at GoDaddy.

So I placed a backorder at GoDaddy, Pool and SnapNames (interesting concept). Do you think all three would give me a satisfying result?

You won't get your $18.95 from GoDaddy back, if the backorder is unsuccessful. However, you can just keep on applying it to names until you finally grab one.

There has been some hype about GoDaddy catching a three letter domain (very valuable), so you're in good hands! ;)
 
I am aware of that I am not getting the money back. I figured that if I am ready to pay $60 for it, an extra $20 wouldn't make the difference, especially to GoDaddy that has been so incredible in customer service. :)
 
I suppose when you backorder a domain name through godaddy and if you fail to get the domain, you can't get a refund and you can only use the money trying to backorder another domain name.

Yeap, it is stated so in their Terms. I am one of those who read them before signing up for things. :)

The official (public) expiration of the domain is today, but something tells me I have to wait at least 30-45 days before it will be dropped, am I correct?
 
Yes art. The original owner still gets 30 days until the domain expires. In which it is up for grabs. BTW GoDaddy is the BEST at grabbing domains. It has snatched up all of the ones I wanted before that were available :). I think they give 15 additional days for the owner in which after 30 it is released and up for grabs.

Although I do question their customer service comment :smash: . NameCheap has the best support IMHO.
