Audiovox Thera PDA Phone

I've been wanting a PDA phone for the past couple weeks now. I go through Verizon and because I'm not starting a new contract I was looking at an easy $800+ for the PDA phone I wanted. So I started checking out eBay and a few other avenues. I ended up with an Audiovox Thera for $75 + $30 shipping - so a PDA phone for about $100. I figured, cheap enough to give it a shot.

I haven't gotten the phone yet, but I'm excited as I just got tracking numbers. Couple of days and I'll have a nice PDA phone that I can use to check E-mail/surf/manage appointments and whatnot with.

Next up on the list of things is a second cradle and a carrying case for the phone. As well as an SD card so I can take movies/music along with me whever I go. I've heard that bluetooth will work with it, and I've heard it won't. Anyone, by chance, know for sure (from experience) if the Audiovox Thera 2032 (Verizon model, not the sp model for sprint) is happy with Bluetooth?

Pics/review to come in the coming week or so!

I've always been skeptical with ebay. Mainly because I have a problem trusting the people that I am buying from. Let us know how it works out...maybe your story will instill some faith in ebay. ;) Good luck with the phone! Sounds like a nice new toy to have around :)

I got my laptop off there about a year ago: It was used, a Dell Latitude, but it's still running great to this day. All original equipment that came with it, and it's been dropped kicked stepped on and drinks have been spilt on it. Happens when youngins are around ;) No complaints from the laptop, or eBay transaction.

Also got wireless card for the Dell laptop there, and my little omni-directionaly antenna for the card from eBay. All and all everything came out well.

The seller for the phone had over 1400 reviews, and a %99.5 rating - so not bad I figured. Will let you know how everything goes though with this.

i have lost more than $100 with ebay when i ordered routers and adapters but sometimes it works great when you go with the points of the sellers.

Awesome phone, works great, haven't used it to full extent, won't have a chance as I am going to be dropping Verizon and switching to Cingular. Verizon messed me over hard with my billing, and therefore: dropping them. Phone works great, reception was awesome with Verizon, and no complaints other than the fact that because of their run around I'm sitting with a thousand dollar bill and no chance of any credits because of their mistakes and run arounds.

Ive heard of the Palm BlackBerry. This is a palm with a phone and the reviews are good. I think you can store pictures / movies on them, but you need to get a memory card.

As for ebay... I buy alot of stuff off ebay. I basically check if its a decent, a quality item, and if the seller has 99% or higher feedback, I buy it.

I won't be getting another PDA - just for the simple fact that after having used this I don't like the bulk that comes with it. I did find a PDA that is small like a normal phone, but runs about $800 and isn't available in the US yet. It will be for Cingular though so maybe when the time comes around that they offer it for $500 I'll pick it up.

At any rate the phone I am planning on getting with Cingular is going to be the Sony Ericsson S700a (http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=942)
