Attracting contributors?

I just finished and launched a new article directory I talked about in another thread here. It runs on Wordpress platfrom by the way. So, how to attract authors and marketers to contribute articles to my website? Should I write an article promoting the article directory and submit it to Ezine Articles? Doesn't it sound silly?

Writing an article or two *about* your site, paying attention to SEO, and posting them on your site is likely to help some. Another thing would be to find some forums that discuss the topics you want in your articles, and have a link to it in your signature. If you are an active poster of quality content, you are sure to have some people click your link and visit your site. Good luck to you!
