Attention to Detail

I routinely click through on signature links and review websites - to kind of stay in touch where the industry is. Quite often I'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of sites out there, but all too often I'll see some obvious problems on sites and wonder why.

This morning I saw this
******* invite you to check for yourself at our testimonials area and in our forum
- only I found NO testimonials area or forum. I wonder how much this lack of attention to detail affects their prospects? It's like a shopping cart with different categories, but NO products under certain categories.

I've seen this (and done this) before too actually. Sometimes I remove something from a site thinking that it's fine, then remove the directory etc as it was a change up in a new design - only to find out MONTHS later that there was a page internal somewhere on the site that still referenced the old page/info.

I try to use the webmaster tools at google as often as possible to keep meta tags and links in order, but sometimes it's just overlooked.

On the main page however, that's something totally different - every link should definitly work :)

I agree - I'll even contact other website owners and let them know if they have such errors on their sites.

I would want someone to tell me if it was my site. :)

I'm a sig-link-clicker too :)

Wow, that example is just bad. There are a lot of web host sites out there right now that have poorly constructed content, especially mis-wordings - which drives me crazy.
