Article Marketing

I have been searching the internet for the past ten months (lost my job) searching for ways to earn a living online. I have acquired a ton of information and I am finally getting things into perspective. Next week I will (finally) launch my first campaign on Google Adwords.

What I didn't know about was article marketing. I have done some research on this and it sounds like a good marketing strategy. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Your response will be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance and have a super day!

I haven't had direct experience, but would like to offer my thoughts.

To me, it looks like article marketing would only really start to pay off once you've established yourself as some sort of expert within the web hosting industry. One or two articles in the hope of gaining some free advertising may get a few clickthroughs. However, if you're in it just for the free advertising, then I think your limited time would be better spent improving your products and services and delivering value to your customers.

Again, just my :twocents:.

Agree with webfreak, its not something you will be able to do overnight and get the best results. It's definitely going to be with combination with your other efforts to get your name out. Provide good service, and customers will do the marketing for you.

To gain better results, you will need to routinely publish articles to multiple sources. Good luck.

I do Article Marketing, but that's just one piece of the advertising pie. You really need to take advantage of every advertising venue available to you - blogs, social networking, YouTube channels for video marketing, forum participation, networking events, etc. This all takes time for the pieces to fall into place. And the effort needs to be consistent across the board.

Thank you all so much for your feedback. It is totally appreciated.

If you don't mind me asking, what types of marketing strategies would you recommend?

Again, thanks and have a wonderfully blessed day!

I'm not an expert with 'article marketing' but you make perfect sense. You want people to confined in you and your resources / thoughts to be valuable. With article marketing you want people to read your articles and they wont if your talking about a topic or situation that does not make sense. Establish your name then continue with your dreams. Make sure when you do anything article or website related to use your "real" name. I never understood why people use fake or id's. I understand hackers but that is a completely different topic. If you are a designer, developer, host, seo and more why wouldn't you want to claim your own work? As a designer I seen people with names like "oreo3x" - why would you do this? Best of luck to you.

I think your niche lends itself to local advertising - new businesses and entrepreneurs that have yet to post a website, and don't want to pay a designer $1000+ upfront. Lists of newly registered businesses are readily available from a number of sources. A lot of Business Journals offer this service.

@MZCat:

Yes, indeed article marketing is a power marketing strategy that's often overlooked. A few article directories that work wonders for me are listed as below. EzineArticles is especially important if you wish to drive some real traffics to your website - also not to mention the link juice that's useful to lift up your website Google PR.

  • EzineArticles
  • GoArticles
  • ArticleCity
  • Gather
  • Articly Ally

IMO it's a great way to get your word out, but don't do it just for the ads. It's all about quality articles. Many people start blogs for similar reasons, but I think too many simply try to through together hundreds of articles/posts that don't really "do anything" for readers.

If you've got the time go for it. Otherwise maybe just write a few here and there(quality is key) and do it to help others, not for the clicks.
