Are there any $1.00 or less .com domain registrars?

A .com domain costs a domain registrar a bare minimum of $6.25, so I doubt there exists any registrars (or resellers) that can offer $1 or less domain registration.

You can get a domain for pretty cheap using DN Coupons and GoDaddy.

I think there's a $2 off coupon for a 1 year .com on the DNC site. It'll get you close to that $6 mark.

Also I think Yahoo does registrations for $1 or $2, but that you have to host through them as well. So to answer your question, $1 for a .com with no other obligations? Don't hold your breath.

Yahoo offers that service but that is the first year only and you have to have a credit card. As they don't accept any other payment methods.

Has finding a job and making the other $7.63 to buy yourself a domain crossed your mind?
I don't know how it works for everyone else to pay your bills.

Jobs tend to be a good solution. Or if you are nice and contribute to HostingDiscussion I'm sure after 200 points you can use your HD Points to get a domain name ;)

I don't know how it works for everyone else to pay your bills.
They won the lottery ;)

Too bad I don’t have PayPal.
Otherwise, I would have asked you to send it to me and after about 10 months, I would have given you a domain name. ;)
(Still, I think I am giving you the Max. return that you can ever get)

Lypha does it, yes, but they do not have strong reviews from what I read and tend to hold domains hostage. Same for 1&1 and I personally tried them.

Stargate.com is cheap for domains but they're jerks a lot, but once your order is done, you're all set. Yahoo, if you never bought something through them, 1.99 for your first .com domain. eNom is good, I have a reseller with them.

Well there is a company that sells .com,net,biz and so others domain names for $3.95 per year. If you want to check it out visit the following site:

www.domainsarefree.com
I haven't heard good about them. One of my friend got domains thru them and constantly curses their slow domain management system.

Is not that slow, but once your domain is setup on a server you won't have any problem. I've been using them for a long time and I never had a problem with them.

Its interesting. One year of domain registration is $4, but 3 years is $21. Usually, the longer the term the more you can save, but they have it the opposite way, which makes it completely unattractive to opt for a billing period more than 1 year. :)

Domainsarefree.com is owned by Globat. It may very well be that their goal is not necessarily to sell domains, but to promote their other services (like hosting). Domain registering has a low markup and is increasingly used as a loss leader. I don't really follow their pricing policy, but they might want to increase the number of opportunities to contact the customers (like yearly) and push additional services.
