Beside http://www.hostingdiscussion.com as a good web hosting forum then what web hosting forums are you using to promote your web hosting plans and learn from others?

For me, I tried to find some via Google and here's the results I found

http://****************/
https://www.webhosting.uk.com/forums/
http://www.hotwebhostingtalk.com/
http://webhostingforum.com/
www.webhostingtalk.com.au/
https://www.webhosting.uk.com/forums/

What about you? can you add to my list some good hosting forums that allowing posting services for free?

Thanks in advance.

Well, you obviously didn't list the largest community of all:

www.webhostingtalk.com (which in my opinion still eclipses all others in terms of activity). I also believe it is still run independently (as in it is isn't owned by any web hosting related business).

Another popular one is www.lowendtalk.com, but that one is targeted towards very low cost solutions only (VPS and dedicated for the most part). Owned by a hosting company powerhouse.

Out of those you listed:

http://**************** - weak activity, if you look through the forums. Same story with webhostingforum.com

https://www.webhosting.uk.com/forums/ - not an independent forum, owned by a hosting company.

http://www.hotwebhostingtalk.com/ - dead.

www.webhostingtalk.com.au/ - focused on Australian market/providers

There used to be close to 25 web hosting forums back 4-5 years ago. But forums isn't an easy business and requires time commitment and experience. Most of the forums like HostHideout, WebHostingChat, WebHostingWorld, HostNode, WHMTalk and a bunch of others closed shop due to spam, shills and just lack of time from their owners.

Out of those still existing I can add the following to the list:

www.sgwebhostingtalk.com - focused on Singapore market/providers

www.tophosts.com/forums - but overrun with spam in Epic proportions.

http://forums.hostsearch.com/

http://www.hostingforum.ca/forum/

http://www.datacentertalk.com/forum/

The last three exist, but I didn't have the time to check if their content is also compromised by shills/spam or how the activity level is.

Thanks for your great information about web hosting forums

www.webhostingtalk.com I don't like this forum, Moderators there are very harsh and I have not ever found a hosting package there, they looks messy with offers and spammy threads.

http://**************** - I am seeing members posting more there, it is a decent hosting forum to join, I knew it when searching a web hosting forum via Google.

www.sgwebhostingtalk.com

www.tophosts.com/forums

http://forums.hostsearch.com/

http://www.hostingforum.ca/forum/

http://www.datacentertalk.com/forum/

The rest I will check and thanks again for sharing your list!

Are you absolutely sure about that? I just learned that you are directly involved in running it, as a moderator. You know, promoting it through almost every thread you create here is called shilling, right? :rolleyes2

How does 'em censorship options sound?

PS: I am not going to remove this thread in light of the other good information for people to discover.

Good to block such accounts. All his posts seems to be having that link and he might be already blocked by WHT and hence he hate them :)

There are a lot of forums you can use but the most effective forum will be HD or WHT, but i wouldn't recommend WHT unless you like to take stress from them. Good luck with finding the right forum.

For sure, Hosting Discussion ranks among the best web hosting forums on the Internet. WebMasterTalk.net was going along fairly well until the admin slacked off moderating spam.

Popular webmaster related forums may be a good place to promote your hosting stuff as any place that gather online marketeers together is nice.

and datacentertalk.com

DatacenterTalk is dead meat. The last I checked, it was full of spammers and shills, none of the contact information was correct and no one was manning the forum, or answering any inquiries. And now the site is down. Not surprised.

See, that's exactly the problem. The original question was asking for good forums. When people just post everything that's out there that points at relative size - it doesn't at all mean that a forum is good. Most communities on your list are neither popular, nor they are good. They are filled with spam and aren't moderated.

Even as a hosting business trying to earn a little exposure through social media, you aren't going to yield any benefit by participating on a dead community simply because there aren't anyone of value visiting or participating on it.

I have a forum that is not hosting related. i spent 4 days going through all members and must of clearly 80% of the members as being spammers. the forum was getting an average 20 new members per day, now i have it set that new members must be approved by admin, the 20 a day new membership has now come to 2 or 3 a month
