Ajax

It seems that AJAX is becoming a big thing now for making dynamic websites. Are there any decent resources for learning it that are free?

I am well versed in Java, not Java Script, and also C and machine code so hopefully I shouldn't find it too much of a chore to learn another coding language.

Well, it's not another coding language, it's the combination of javascript and XML. If you are well versed with Java it shouldn't be to difficult to get a hold of the AJAX technology. you should get some coding environment for it.
