Achieving Good Page Rank

There are so many articles out there about increasing your PR-and I now understand the principles behind it. But it would seem that achieving quality back links is not exactly easy.

How do you sell yourself to other sites to get links?

Thats a tricky question and theres no real cookie cutter answer as the process for getting a link will change with every site you try to achieve this with.

The best advice that I've heard is to make sure that you have something worth linking to. There isn't any sales pitch that will work if your site is not worth linking to. Basically let your site and your site's content speak for itself.

Good Luck.

The others hit it on the head with having quality content that people 'want' to link to. Once you have that, it's all about getting the word out. If they don't know you exist, they can't/won't link to you, but if you get your name/site out there, they're more likely to do it on their own.

The basic formula for achieving good PageRank is simple: create many original content pages for your site, and work on getting other legitimate, original content sites with good PageRank to link to your site.

That's it. Sweet and simple. If you invest the time and effort to create a good, content-rich web site, and avoid quick PageRank schemes, you will ultimately be rewarded with a good PageRank for your site.

If you are starting from scratch, give yourself a year to obtain a PageRank of 4 or 5. Add pages to the site weekly if not daily, and make sure the pages are original content that people want to read. And each week locate at least five other sites to request reciprocal links from; if one of the five agrees, consider your efforts for that week successful. Continue this weekly program for one to two years, and you can expect to achieve good PageRank.
