Is it worth getting? I know there is no monthly fee, but there is a $50 setup fee. I was wondering if its worth getting.

Does anyone use it? Do you need to signup to use a CClike paypal? And lastly, can other contries use it with a CC, like places in Europe etc.?

Thanks in advanced.
Ryan

It seems you might be located in the United States? if so - and your volume is more than $1,000 a month, a merchant account with an electronic payment gateway (Verisign's Payflow, LinkPoint, Authorizenet.com) is usually better in the long run.

With a merchant account, you will get a virtual terminal, the money is deposited into your checking account usually withing a couple of days after the transaction and your name appears on the consumer credit card statement. And you can capture and process the credit card transaction on your secure website without sending the consumer over to another website

With 2CO, you get your money every two weeks unless your volume is $1,000 a week (which means you should have a merchant account :)). Their name appears on the consumer statement as well and you add another company in the middle when accepting credit cards.

Usually with 2CO or a merchant account, as long as the credit card has the Visa / MasterCard logo on it, you should be able to accept the credit card on your website.

Well I just signed up with 2CO. I think it will be good for me in the long run. I dont mind getting the money after 2 weeks, as long as I get it :D

I may need to get a real merchant account soon, because we have been getting customers like crazy, and soom might hit the "$1,000"/ week mark at the rate were going now.

If you are located outside US, can you still use 2CO? Or, what are the handicaps being located outside US for 2CO payments?

2Checkout is TERRIBLE! DO NOT USE! Authorize.net is the way to go. For years I was stuck struggling with 2CO. They accept any chargeback, and then charge you $30.00 for the chargeback. (plus the chargeback) Their fraud program works only half the time and block more good orders than bad ones. It even blocked my personal debit card! Sales sky rocketed once I gave 2CO the boot.

I think 2Checkout is alright. You don't actually process the users information on your site, therfore no SSL certificate is needed for that. You also are not required to be a certain age, or need to fax photo ID, and all of that, which I find is a hassle. Anyways, I would stick with PayPal, can't go wrong there, and 2Checkout, or if you are a bigger company, I suggest Authorize.net or another merchant account like that.

I havent had any problems with them, but I have only been with them for a month or 2, so it's still early. I choose them because the others all had a monthly fee, monthly minimum fee, processing fee, transaction fee, etc. etc. 2Checkout only has the 1 time setup fee and the transaction and processing fee. It just fit me better for now while my business is still small.

I've been using 2CO for about a year now, I dont have anything against them, processing fees are a bit high though, as said by other members, if you have a big sales volume then your better off getting a merchant account, otherwise 2CO is one of the best stable choices out there, I wouldnt even consider companies like ikobo or Storm Pay.

Why are you psoting this in a 2checkout topic!!

I don't know what to think about 2CO. We have been waiting for our money for 2/3 months now.

At first they check your sign up data by using a code on your CC statement. I guess that's normal, but a shame if you get your CC statement on paper only, once a month.

Then they judge the compliance of your site. That took me about 5 tickets before I could get them to agree.

One of their policies is, that they phone the customers of a percentage of your sales. We are in Europe, so is our client and that took 2 tickets before both would pick up the phone when calling.

And now, when the payment to our bankaccount should be made, something is wrong, because two payments seem to be reversed, and the payment is still pending. But, no word from 2CO. We have submitted a ticket once again. I think they are just stalling to get more interest or so. Never knew I would that much work on a CC processor...

Why does 2CO need to charge a signup fee anyway...
Because if the merchant does something that is not legal, and 2CO is unable to recoup fees, then they have a little money.

It is just like Global Payments required a reserver for one of its clients because the merchant was processing way too much. That merchant processed about $86 million, while Global withheld $47.6 million, but around the end of March, that reserve was reduced to $24.1 million.

Sampeter stop spam please. Your reputation about your site is way below zero now because of your off-topic posts.

There are a number of real problems with 3rd Party Payment processors in general... their fees are usually considerably higher than a real merchant account. Paypal is by far the best though; why pay 5%+ per transaction to 2CO when you could use Paypal for half that?

I would suggest its better to look for an european based payment processor in place, ChronoPay/standardpay are few good option available there in EU. They are reliable and stable procesor and their charges are quite affordable too.
